A few dissenting noises on social media have queried the £1 admission price but since the economics of survival, and even prospering, in this day and age is down to them, that’s a matter for individual choice.

For most it’s a small price to pay – even if its for trip down memory lane and you just want to stroll and gape.

The rides, most certainly, have changed, and for those tempted there are 10 adult rides, 12 children’s rides and loads of stalls with prizes.

Thurston’s believes “there’s something for everyone so fetch your family to the funfair” and the proof of the pudding, of course, is their customers agree and return regularly to support them.
