A local company is in the running for a national award for brokering major transactions in the past year.

The Cambridge based advisory firm, Ashcroft, has made the shortlist for Deal of the Year (above £10m) twice.

One is for the sale of Goddard Veterinary Group, the largest independent veterinary group in the UK, to VetPartners, which completed in October 2021.

And, for the sale of Newmarket-based C4 Carbides Limited to TTI Group.

Ashcroft is a finalist in three categories at this year’s Insider Media Central & East Dealmakers Awards.

The company has been shortlisted for Corporate Finance Advisory Firm of the Year, twice in the Deal of the Year (above £10m) category and Ashcroft’s partner and corporate finance lead, Tom Gallop, is in the Dealmaker of the Year category.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the annual awards, which recognises Central & East professional advisory firms that have worked on deals throughout the region in the last 12 months.

2021/2022 was a record-breaking year for the Ashcroft corporate finance team in terms of deal volume and fee income, increasing total deal value by 320% and the average deal value by 236%.

To meet this demand, Ashcroft has grown its corporate finance team, including Tim Blois, who joined recently as corporate finance director.

Award nominee, Tom Gallop, said: “It has been an incredible year for Ashcroft, and we are delighted to be shortlisted for three categories at this year’s Central & East Dealmaker Awards.

“Throughout this phenomenal year the team has completed a number of very significant and high-quality transactions in technology, healthcare and manufacturing.”

The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony in Milton Keynes on 3 November 2022.
