“I completed the MDS in 2016 as well as running 12 events in fancy dress including the London Marathon. Fast forward and 7 years later and a load of well-worn costumes behind me I now approaching my 76th consecutive fancy dress run. “

His costumes have included a included a range of superheroes Thor, Ironman, Captain America. Darth Vader and Chewbacca of Star Wars fame, a minion and rock stars Freddy Mercury and Elton John.

“I’ve already ran as the disco ball completing the Cambridge and Reading Half Marathon but a Marathon in this funky get up is going to be a massive challenge.

“I’ll continue running in costume throughout the year having signed Copenhagen Marathon, MK half and Oslo Marathon.”

He added: “Previously I collected with bucket whilst running but the disco ball sadly doesn’t allow me to this. So please if you give generously and thanks for all the awesome support over the last 7 years.”

Hope for Children is an international charity working towards a world in which every child has the happy, healthy, and positive childhood we passionately believe they deserve.

Almost half of the world’s children live in extreme poverty. Hope for Children are helping to change this by delivering projects which improve access to education, health and wellbeing, and sustainable livelihoods, benefitting thousands of children and families each year.

“Everything we do is for the benefit of today’s children and tomorrows parents, supporting present and future generations to achieve long-term change,” he says.

“We know it will take time. But together we can do this.”
