One of two drug dealers caught with cocaine and heroin – and later jailed for four and a half years – is facing extra time inside unless he coughs up nearly £5,000 in the next month. George Bellamy, 24, of Broadway, Yaxley, had heroin worth £860, as well as cocaine worth £500, £2,290 in cash, a set of scales, clingfilm and five mobile phones at his home at the time of his arrest.

A further £3,170 in cash was found in a safe.

At Huntingdon Law Courts in June, he pleaded guilty plea to two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and one count of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.

He was jailed for four and a half years.

But last Friday Bellamy was back before a judge – this time at Cambridge Crown Court – for a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing and ordered to pay back £4,836.69 within one month or face a further six months in prison.

Bellamy, 24, was arrested at his home in Broadway on 15 September last year as part of Operation Hypernova, a crackdown on county lines drug dealers.

Officers found the drugs, cash and multiple mobile phones linking him to the ‘Lucy’ and ‘Reeko’ drug lines.

Detective Constable James Campbell said: “Operation Hypernova was carried out last September and saw 33 county lines dismantled with crack cocaine, heroin, and cannabis worth more than £600,000 seized along with hundreds of thousands of pounds in cash and assets.

Drug dealer George Bellamy, 24, of Broadway, Yaxley, had heroin, cocaine and £2,290 in cash when he was arrested: a further £3,170 in cash was found in a safe.

Umberto Femminile was also arrested on the same day at his home in St Paul’s Road, Peterborough, as part of the same operation.

There, they found cocaine worth £340, £210 of heroin and 7.15 kgs of bulking agent for heroin.

A black Audi linked to Bellamy was also at the house as well as paperwork with his name on, including a tenancy agreement.

Phones, SIM cards, cash and other drugs paraphernalia were also found.

Femminile, 20, was arrested and officers evidence found linking his mobile phone to drug dealing.

The pair ran two drugs “lines” in Peterborough. Femminile ran the “Fran” drugs line.

Femminile, of Palace Gardens, Peterborough, was jailed for two years and three months after pleading guilty to the same five charges.

It is not known if he, too, faces a Proceeds of Crime hearing.
