Nearly 170 hallucinatory ecstasy (MDMA) tablets were found in a Cambridge house within easy reach of children, a court was told.

The father who stored them at his then home in Queen Edith’s Way, Cambridge, didn’t stop there.

When police arrived on August 26 with a search warrant they also discovered:

  • Cannabis worth between £3,000 and £5,000
  • Packages of cocaine worth about £15,000
  • Three quarters of a kilogram of cocaine worth up to £32,000

Kastriot Ponari, 44, was leaving his home in Queen Edith’s Way, Cambridge, on August 26 last year with his wife and children when officers arrived to search the premises.

, Ponari, of Redhill Close, Great Shelford, was jailed, having pleaded guilty to offering to supply MDMA, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and being concerned in the supply of MDMA.

An examination of a phone found messages linking Ponari to drug dealing in the Cambridge area.

On Monday (31 July), at Cambridge Crown Court, Ponari, and more recently of Redhill Close, Great Shelford, was jailed for seven years.

He pleaded guilty to offering to supply MDMA, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, and being concerned in the supply of MDMA.

DC Christian Jackman said: “Ponari shamelessly dealt drugs in the Cambridge area and, to make matters worse, there were drugs throughout the house that his children would have been able to easily access.”

If you suspect drug dealing in your area,  report it through the Cambridgeshire police website.
