Cash reward to catch thieves who siphoned £2,500 fuel from March firm

A March businessman is offering a reward after intruders broke into his yard and stole 1400 litres of diesel and vandalised all of the lorries.

The thieves were driving a white Transit van, said the businessman.

“There is a cash reward for anyone who can provide us with names so they can be convicted and so my dad can have a quiet word with them.”

Police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to after the diesel theft.

Detective Sergeant Richard Seston said that at about 11.30pm on Wednesday (1 February) thieves siphoned £2,500 worth of fuel from vehicles at a business in Whittlesey Road.

“They also caused damage to some of the vehicles as they attempted to remove the diesel,” he said.

“This incident has had a significant financial impact on a local business.

“Not only was the fuel stolen, but the damage caused to some of the vehicles meant they were unable to be used while repairs took place.
