These include regular flood awareness and education events, while our website hosts resources for those who want to find out more.

Funding has also been provided to community flood groups to help protect vulnerable properties from flooding.

Earlier this year the county council approved a new Flood Risk Management Strategy which will the council, alongside partner organisations, identify and deliver projects to address flooding and flood risk.

Cllr Nick Gay, vice-chair of the environment and green investment committee which approved the strategy, said: “As a council we know how devastating flooding can be, which is why we make huge efforts to try and prevent it from occurring and respond quickly to any enquiries we receive.

“We know many people are worried about how their properties will cope during periods of heavy rainfall.

“I would urge anyone seeking further information on what they can do to protect themselves, as well as what support they can expect from us, to join us for this webinar.”
