A Wisbech flat has been closed by police following complaints about anti-social behaviour (ASB) relating to drug use and dealing. The full closure order was served on 27 King Street yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

It follows a successful application at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and Clarion Housing Association.

It states the premises is closed due to people engaging in disorderly, offensive, or criminal behaviour at the premises and its use has or is likely to result in disorder or serious nuisance to the public.

Complaints from the local community had been made to police and partner agencies about drug supply, use and related anti-social behaviour surrounding use of the flat.

PC Lorraine Foster-Bentham, from the Wisbech NPT, said: “Concerns have been brought to our attention about the use of this flat affecting other residents in the area.

“By taking this action we hope to provide some reassurance to the community that we have listened to their concerns and are taking action to resolve the issues.”
